Wrexham Science Festival is a non profit-making public engagement event, and we rely on the generous support of our partners and sponsors to ensure the Festival continues its success year after year.

The Festival established in 1998 and has since become an integral part of the local community, as well as a key event for science enthusiasts from throughout Wales, the North West of England and the Midlands.

As a sponsor of an event at the Wrexham Science Festival your organisation will be linked to a well established community event which attracts high profile, expert speakers and exhibitors and enjoys high attendance year on year. 

The 2011 Wrexham Science Festival proved to be a very successful event with more than 8,000 visitors overall. In addition to special programmes of events aimed at Primary and Secondary Schools, the general public arm of the Festival featured an eight-day programme packed full of talks, shows and demonstrations from some of the country’s leading scientific thinkers, covering a diverse range of topics from 21st century telescopes and the biology of spiritual experience, to the genetic legacy of medieval society in north east Wales and why swearing increases tolerance to pain. 

Other highlights included BBC Radio Wales in conversation with award-winning writer, broadcaster and medic Dr Ben Goldacre, Blue Peter's science expert Steve Mould taking an interactive look at the science behind polymers, and a pub quiz with a science slant, that saw a team of pub quiz regulars take on the Glyndŵr University experts.

The Festival also showcased some of the world-class research being undertaken at Glyndŵr University, including the use of biopolymers in the health sector, composites and their implications to the air industry and the impact of simulation technology on health care education.

2012 will mark the 14th anniversary of the Wrexham Science Festival. The programme is currently under development, and will feature events designed to appeal to all ages and interests – from events suitable for children to events designed to support business.

Our aim

Our aim with the Wrexham Science Festival is to reach as many people as possible in the local community to share in the amazing world of science. We do not make a profit, and all our events are free to attend.

How you can help

With your sponsorship we can keep as many elements of the Public Programme free to attend as possible. This allows us to continue working towards our aim of giving everyone in the local community a chance to learn.

Our sponsorship packages

We do not have set sponsorship packages because we want you to have the flexibility to pick and choose what is most appropriate to your organisation or business.

You will be able to choose from sponsoring a particular event to the Wrexham Science Festival as a whole.
